If you live in a major city, you may have noticed more people wearing bandanas around their neck, as the accessory has made a small comeback. Typically made from cotton, the bandana — distinct from the ascot — has a long history in working class aesthetics, as it serves a practical function.

I know! The design was made in 1881, the same year that Morris gave him lecture on 'Art & the Beauty of the Earth' in Stoke -

campaigning for better education, housing, access to green spaces.

And his fears that we will become martyrs to the machine. Worth reading:

This is the exhibition, and I'll be there 3/4th Dec for various tours & talks. And more things in the New Year too. Lots of embroidery and botanical drawings and beautiful books xx
