In other words, because an electronic system cannot distinguish between a bad essay and an unusual one, students have to not only write well, they have to present a conventional point of view. 4/4

That also means if you have an original argument or an original construction or another other original POV, it's not going to align to any of the 500. So how does it decide on a score? Anecdotally, it appears to bucket highly original essays in with those that are semantically incoherent. 3/4

The electronic scoring engine uses latent semantic analysis to compare the new essay to 500 essays previously scored by 2 humans to guess how those humans would have scored this one. So the closer your essay matches one of those 500, the higher confidence it will have that you'd score the same. 2/4

For sure! Especially with Dichen. But Dollhouse’s real premise was the “disposable virgin” sex fantasy. The bigger implications of personalities-on-demand were touched on, but from what I’d now describe as an incel POV. Lovers on demand, guilt-free assassins, and sexy psychopaths.

Do it. If they auctioned those items for charity it would look like self-serving rehab PR, but if you do it, it’s rebalancing the universe a squidge.

Trump doesn’t care about tariffs. He cares about extorting world leaders and titans of industry for exceptions. A stream of petty little dominance games to feed his narcissism. Letting Elon sacrifice reputation & wealth and pitting him against the cabinet for Trump’s favor is another dominance game.

When dealing with criminals, there is no such thing as a one-time payoff. The Maryland guy ICE accidentally sent to El Salvador, left there in the first place because after his family paid a gang a “one time payoff” to leave them alone, they kept coming back for more.
