For the second time this week my search results showed me the same stats AI slop Youtube channel. It turns out the channel has more than 23.000 videos posted since last December (that's 72/day!!). Not only the content sucks but it floods search and hides good videos by humans created.

I wrote a post on how to connect with people (i.e., make friends) at CS conferences. These events can be intimidating so here's some suggestions on how to navigate them

I'm late for #ICLR2025 #NAACL2025, but in time for #AISTATS2025 #ICML2025! 1/3

Tips on How to Connect at Academic Conferences
I was a kinda awkward teenager. If you are a CS researcher reading this post, then chances are, you were too. How to navigate social situations and make friends is not always intuitive, and has to …

This is awesome, I don’t know how I missed it!! Very nice to see important conferences going to Brazil, first UAI and now ICLR.

I guess now I have one more reason to wrap my NeurIPS submission and start working on the next thing 🇧🇷
That's a wrap for #ICLR2025! See you all next year in Brazil! Please all welcome @bharathhariharan.bsky.social as the new Senior Program Chair! (With @cvondrick.bsky.social continuing on as General Chair.)

Ever wondered why presenting more facts can sometimes *worsen* disagreements, even among rational people? 🤔

It turns out, Bayesian reasoning has some surprising answers - no cognitive biases needed! Let's explore this fascinating paradox quickly ☺️

I made a starter pack for machine learning researchers working on Bayesian optimization and Gaussian processes!

It's *very* sparse ATM since the migration is still in progress.

Please reply to make me aware of people - potentially yourself - who should be added to it!

I made a starter pack for Bayesian ML and stats (mostly to see how this starter pack business works).

Let me know whom I missed!

I've been spending more time here over the past couple of days. It's quite refreshing to see that we still have the potential to re-establish a place for great ML research discussions without all the chaos and toxicity that X has become.
