Pathetic crybaby. You were brought close to the edge, were you? Because of words of abuse? It's not a fraction of what trans people live with every day.

What a pathetic attempt by to make yourself the victim "boo hoo, my shitty words have consequences".

I find it handy to ask “what was the thing I read about xyz recently?”

I have a shortcut to “summarise this, give me the devils advocate view, then tell me which is more persuasive.” (Is this worth reading?)

Not rocket science or defensible; enough to switch browsers tho & miss it on iPhone.

I quite like Dia. Have been finding it to be quite useful. Unclear that there’s much defensible to what they’ve built, but the UX for bringing an LLM into the browser is pretty well executed.

Maybe also: as much as I think liberal democracy is on the right side of history... it was always a bit ridiculous for the rest of the world to lecture China on how to administrate a province that was ... stolen? (Other word for colonialism?)

Anyway, my point was just that I don't think the lessons of the HK political situation and it's ineffectual protest has any lesson for Canada (or anyone really, other than ... Xi really means One China, and yes, a guy who's got ethnic concentration camps is likely going to do bad faith things?)

100% agree. 2047 was the date. Still, the current state was always the expected end state. I feel for the citizens of Hong Kong, I just don't think protest there was ever going to go anywhere. Especially as HK lost its economic value for China.

Were the HK protests ever plausibly impactful?
- HK was a colony returned to its owner.
- They always said the 2 systems would become one.
- China said they’d give it till 2047.

Yes, Xi lied.🤷‍♂️ He moved up the timetable for HK "integration", but the end state was never in question.
