✒️ Parliament has been accused of an “outrageous abuse” that is “worthy of the Trump White House”, after refusing to issue us a media pass.

Thousands have signed a petition calling on the government to give us access.

I don't often ask people to write to their MPs. But I think they might listen to you on this, as it's so jaw-droppingly awful, and they're almost certainly unaware of it. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Please also write to the Environment Secretary: steve.reed.mp@parliament.uk Thanks.
What’s in the millions of tonnes of sludge spread on to UK farmland? Toxic waste – and ministers don’t care | George Monbiot
Water companies let waste disposers, for cash, dump their loads into sewage farms. When it is recklessly used as fertiliser, we are all at risk, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

Four things to say about the £23bn Thames Water needs for infrastructure repair:
1. As I understand it, this covers only extreme, emergency repairs, for infrastructure that’s about to fail or has already done so.
2. It’s almost certainly an underestimate.

Hello BlueSky. We had held off starting a dedicated channel to see how BlueSky evolved instead posting all of our 10 Bylines on @bylinesnetwork.bsky.social, but given how fast BlueSky is growing, now is the time to make the jump.

Please help spread the word that Central Bylines are now here

The Trump/Musk/Putin axis from hell is so menacing.

That so many Tories and Faragists are loudly cheering it on is staggering. Tying themselves to the mast of evil, falling over themselves to trash democracy and sell us out to this authoritarian malignancy…
Never let them forget their complicity.

1. Who really won the US election? The fossil fuel companies and other polluting industries. We scarcely heard about them during the election campaign, which is just how they like it. Almost everything we *did* hear about was a distraction from the real agenda. 🧵

A common misperception is that the methane leaks in the US oil industry are from old oil wells. While it is true old wells leak methane, most of it comes from brand new oil wells and all of the equipment to process and transport it.

"Yet, because methane can leak from oil wells..."
NASA's methane satellite just mapped its first plumes
Methane is a big problem for our climate. This satellite can now see it from above.

Been so many studies saying the badgercull is not scientific and not productive to reduce bovine TB as most of the TB spread is cow to cow. A small study looking at vaccinating badgers instead of culling them was more effective at reducing bovine TB in badgers than cull. Please stop the cull! 🧪
Vaccinating badgers more effective than culls in stopping bovine TB, study finds
Percentage of badgers with bTB fell to zero in Cornish study, raising hopes of end to cull of 210,000 badgers since 2013

We have very little time to save our climate if we want human civilisation to exist.

Earth’s climate is changing much faster than most of us realise. Catastrophic scenarios are not 50 years in the future, but only 5 years away.

That’s why it is important to act, and act immediately. A thread 🧵 1/n

I'm going to track down as many of you as I can. Please could people repost me, so others can see I am here - and I can find them, and them me. Blue skies, herds of unicorns and sunlit uplands beckon. Oh...and another two Tory candidates bite the dust, I understand 👍👍👍
