still working this out! rn 22 students are divided into two groups. I collect one group's notebooks, grade and comment, then return. Probably each student submits every other week, and I have a pile of 11 every week?

Gotcha! Yeah that would be tough to implement right now. This semester I'm trying something a colleague in English does. Students each have a composition notebook. All their writing (some in class, some at home) is handwritten in the notebook. I collect, comment, grade.

that's exactly where we were a few years ago--using an old, clunky, and in our case home-grown registration system. when it finally failed, Workday.
