I like things, now on BlueSky!
It's about hope and the willingness, to build a future, even when the whole world is filled with death.

And when they pass away, I feel devastated. I felt like losing a friend, a loved one. Yet, I'm also filled with joy to see the legacy they left behind, to see the end of their efforts of keeping on living. It was a rewarding journey.
It's not about the hard choices, or about the desperation.

I can't say as much about the story itself, because it's a huge series, but it will be hard to stop once you get hooked in, and while it didn't have a consistent quality towards the end, it's still a story I enjoyed very much. I really felt like knowing the characters, like they're real, living.

There's a sense of meaning after every loss, a sense of moral dilemma to keep your loved ones safe, even when it challenges you, faces you. You gotta keep on living, you can't afford to submit, to become the walking dead. It's an anthem about sacrifices, and the hope that you have to grab onto.

Very fun movie, I recommend it even when you aren't a cinephile, but maybe you will appreciate all the homages and references, if there are many of them.

It strengthens him.

The movie is pretty self explanatory, but what's cool about the movie is he never once used his passion as an excuse, he just better himself as a person, willing to accept people into his mind, other than himself and Punch-Drunk Love. They're what makes him who he is, and it doesn't hold him back.

A troubled kid, who likes movies, so much that he doesn't see the world outside of him. Not only is he socially inept, he's also incapable of thinking outside of himself and his interests. He was wholeheartedly dedicated to cinema, unaware of the process of making a movie, the works, the process.

I also want to praise the acting, and the directing of the movie. The characters felt very real, the tension was very real, each with their own personalities despite the fact that you never heard any of their names until the very end.
One of the best movies I have seen in recent years.

himself, pushed his son away. I see his acceptance to realization that it was because of HIM that his child distanced himself from his father, and thus, the accused who he deemed "guilty", is now not, a very strong scene, it cemented this movie as one of my all-time favorites.
Simply a great film.

Simply designated "Juror #3", Lee J. Cobb did an amazing job at showing a sad, angry man, for what he did to his son, and blamed him when he didn't keep contact with his father. I see #3 resonating with the murdered father, and see his son as guilty for the things he did, and not realizing that he-

can actually find the cracks in the story, which, all happened where almost every odds were put against the accused. It's simply very moving to me, innocent until proven guilty. But my favorite part of this movie was (SPOILER), the last man to think of the young boy as not guilty, the angriest man.

I see the 11 men who saw a guilty kid, with a background reasonable enough to commit his crime, yet, the sole one person, who thought that he might really be guilty, tried to give him a reasonable doubt, a chance to send the young man away from his death. From then on, it's a battle of whether you-

I also think the story is just weak overall, but the season 2 setting seems very promising, however, I won't be watching it due to what one of the show's creators supports.
I still recommend watching the show. It is a very visually pleasing show with a story engaging enough to hook you in.

I know this all sounds very bad and cringe, but this is my genuine opinion, Akemi feels like she took the "red pill" and then has the power and will to simply become that strong and independent woman figure.
For Ringo, I just can't really make sense of how he made his decisions. The rants end here.
January 1, 2025 at 5:30 PM
I feel like strength is better to be earned, to be forged, that's what Mizu has. Akemi had her fair share of difficult times, still baffled as to why women are treated this way. It felt like she alone, has always believed in women's rights, which wasn't the norm at all during the time.

This is where my biases come in, the gender imbalance is still present, now or then, showing strong women is a great representation, but for Akemi, she just has the strong and independent personality from the get-go. Her personality doesn't come from women's oppression, she's just that strong.

Without going into detail, I can't take Ringo and Akemi seriously, they both act like they're from another world, having characteristics that make no sense. Ringo is inconsistent, and Akemi feels like she represents the strong women who will stand up to anyone in her path, but it feels so forceful.

It's a tale of vengeance, classic, with great attention to Japan's history and culture (which, I admittedly don't know enough about), and having the protagonist be a white woman was a bold move, yet works so well.
Yet, it's so over the top, with an okay at best story to back it up, it's very silly.

The show consistently looks stunning, especially in my favorite episodes, 5 and 6, the blending of Mizu's past, present, and The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride, simply amazing.

However, I can't for the life of me, take half of the story and its characters seriously, they feel so, confusing?
