How are the boys doing?

He looks like he could hold his own. I love his coloring.

I had a tiny boar in junior high — a dark-eyed white Aby. He was the most neurotic guinea pig I’ve ever met. He was utterly terrified of chocolate chip cookies. We worked out that he thought the chips were eyes.

Spike and Valentino are/were naturally big and tall, but it seems improbable that at least five of my seven grew to such good sizes. Puff, the only senior, was truly tiny and Loki was probably average for a boar. Tabitha is an Amazon.

I’ve been sizing them up against our Mystery Guest, and they’re just so much larger, not just in girth. I’ve begun to wonder what component is genetics and how much has to do with nutrition in the first six months.

Meadow has gained massively over the past year. I think she was eating Spike and Tabitha’s food while they were mourning Hufflepuff.

But she’s also been getting less exercise. They used to have unlimited floor time during the day, but I stopped when Hayworth joined us so she’d be safe.

It’s hard to believe Spike was close to dropping below 1100g just weeks ago. Part of his gain is due to sluggish thyroid function. He’ll be starting meds for that.

It’s so gross.
