Australian perspective here. The reaction is firstly one of shock and devastation that this could happen here. The second is determination that something will be done to take guns away from people. And literally no-one here would even dare suggest adding more guns is in any way a solution.

Actually, I think if anyone in Australia dared to suggest that we'd be safer after the Bondi atrocity by arming ourselves, there'd be a collective "oh fuck off you idiot" from the other 27 million of us. Ditto any politician offering "thoughts and prayers" and doing nothing to fix things.
