So, if I had waited in that outside line for the inside line, would I have been able to snag a loaf of their rosemary olive bread? I bet not. Time to rethink what to have with the minestrone soup tonight.

Once again, it's time for the Thanksgiving cactus to bloom. Just once, ya'd think it'd wait for its namesake holiday, but, no.

Who came up with the ad campaign for PWC? This stuff is the worst possible consultant-speak and seems like a Hail Mary attempt at relevance. Where #McKinsey goes, PwC may follow.

@athenaaktipis.bsky.social gets a lot right in "A Field Guide to the Apocalypse." This quote hits home after countless problems dealing with our (well-rated) insurer. Strongly recommend the book, which I picked up on a whim @harvardbookstore.bsky.social

Something odd about the duck bringing up the rear with his family. Also, he stayed with them when they went off-path.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #1,366,549!

Jeezagamundo, was I late to the party, or what? Anyhoo, I'm coming up on my 1-year mark in a few weeks.

this animal is dog-like. goes for walks with his family and goes for walks on his own to visit our house. I know better than to touch the belly, even when it's so appealing.

Neighbor cat got high on nip in our garden today and then asked for belly rubs. I know better - belly touches lead to serious risk of massive bloodshed. He's a good boy, though.

Saw some sections of the Erie Canal today. Hard to imagine what it was like in its heyday, seeing how nature has taken it back.

I don't have a pet, but I just met Bubba who thinks it's all cool. He's also a little camera-shy despite being super friendly. (Photo with permission of Bubba and his hoomans)

Very mixed skies in Plano TX for the eclipse. I'll be in totality, but may not get to see it. Hella lot of travel for this. C'mon, clear up!

fuck this. just fuck this. I'm sitting here without power again, after 3 days without and 3 days back. And, so, I look at the forecast to see when our winds will abate, to see this lovely notice.

well, this is a bummer. Can-Am 2024 Sled Dog Races are cancelled due to lack of snow / incoming warm+rainy weather. I'm sorry for all the teams who'd planned to participate this year. Looks like mud season is starting early here in Maine.
