This is interesting - I saw the Walk Highlands post yesterday about bots replying on their threads. Which is a shame, as I would generally consider people posting on WH as having a reasonable idea of what they're doing.
I was looking into whether LLMs are just killing hikers for a potential article, but there's not enough data on it and I didn't want to contribute to the misinfosphere

The attempted reply (we stopped it) looks very real - but it is from an AI bot.

Helping out a friend who is training for her Hill and Moorland Leader award, so I've spent most of the day hanging around in a featureless bog. Quite a nice featureless bog, though.

Went on a jolly to sunny Barrow-in-Furness.* Was bloody lovely. Saw seals, all the world's waders. And a weasel. And a good sunset. 100% recommend.
