Was there a Scottish commentator yelling “Hans Christian Andersen, Karen Blixen, Søren Kierkegaard, Niels Bohr, Lars von Trier, King Frederik, can you hear us, your guys took a hell of a beating!!!”?

I was at university and in the TV rooms (yes, an ancient concept) we were all watching it, as we’d watched every episode. And we all left in silence. That episode hit so hard.

In French classes we were sometimes allowed to read a Petit Nicolas story as a treat (well, I thought of it as a treat!)

It was long past my primary school days but I think I remember reading that a vicar had written a hymn to the tune which began “Oh how great is God above” after Anita Dobson’s “Anyone can fall in love” was in the charts. The tune was all over the place so other hymn variants are very likely.

Cook had done her work violently and with no time for satisfactory results although everyone knew that Mrs Beeton required everything to be boiled for at least an hour. Those vegetables were almost recognisable - the horror!

No, Letitia, this is not a bustle, it’s my actual backside after I failed to trust to diet and exercise. Let that be a warning to you.
