I don't know why today's feed is full of outrage over recorded racist remarks of an Oklahoma sheriff. The recording was made in 2023, and in 2024 voters kicked him out. Bad, yes, but there's plenty of current events that might be more useful to focus on. Easy to check.

The folks who organized April 5, 50501 may have posed something on Reddit saying they won't be participating in any Eugene Oregon rally on April 19.

A new rabbit hole
Woke up thinking about British novelist Wilkie Collins, and his fine 1860s-era detective novel The Moonstone, which I’ve read a few times. There’s a delightful side character in the boo…

I'm still figuring out Bluesky. Don't know why there's a sudden onslaught of cute bunny posts in my feed. Also, tons of graphic artists and while I love creativity, I'm not interested in fighting dragons and weirdly large-eyed manga stuff that seems to multiply despite my clicking "less of this."

Any folks in Eugene Oregon know about a 50501 April 19 rally?

I'm glad I showed up on Saturday to show were I stand. But 22 years ago, millions in 600 cities around the world protested the U.S. war against Iraq. The BBC estimated that between 6 and 10 million people demonstrated back then. Those massive protests didn't stop that war. So what's next?

Think of me as the pied piper of Nia, a dance/exercise practice that brings me great joy. Haven't seen anyone else on Bluesky posting about Nia. It's global. I blog often about it. #dailydancepractice

From 1978-2023, CEO pay increased 1,085%, while a typical worker's pay grew 24%, according to the Economic Policy Institute. Apparently, CEOs want still more. Everybody needs a physical practice that brings joy. My practice is a dance form called Nia. It marries martial arts, healing arts and dance. There is nothing else like it. It is worldwide. It's my body helping my brain cope. #Niadance #bodybrain

Been mulling democracy lately, processing but not talking much. For me, doing is better than venting/complaining. I've decided to pick 2 areas, labor and the environment, to devote time to.

Anybody else taking a similar approach? What issues?

Not a big romance fiction fan, but I accidentally waded into Pamela Ford's "To Ride A White Horse," and I'm overwhelmed by the setting -- 19th century Ireland during the great famine. Her details of mass starvation as the world stood by while 1 million people died, is a powerful use of history.
