October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. DV is a pattern of abusive behaviors, including physical, sexual, & psychological attacks as well as economic coercion. Abusers use a range of tactics to frighten, terrorize, manipulate, hurt, humiliate, and often injure & sometimes kill a partner.

Abusers employ Flying Monkeys to do their bidding, so they can wash their hands of accountability. Reporting back to them your every move, thoughts and feelings, under the guise they are a shoulder to cry on. They blindly support and enable your abuser for their own gain.

Are you stuck in the Cycle of Abuse?Signs may seem obvious 4 some, but the truth is many never make the connection. I was belittled, rage baited, mocked &on occasion restrained, but because I never ended up in the ER, I didn’t believe I was being abused. Broken bones &bruises are not the only form.

As a DA advocate, I want to be clear THIS is the face of abuse. Narcissistic psychological & emotional abuse. Manipulation, alienation, control, & shaming are all tactics.The perfect crime, because it leaves no outward visible scars. While an extreme example, THIS IS what the average victim endures.

One of the most common misconceptions about domestic violence is that it is only physical in form. Wrong. Emotional & psychological abuse are equally as dangerous. Deteriorating your self image &worth, leaving you a shell of your former self. Long term exposure can rewire your brain causing C-PTSD.

As I read through social media comments related to Jack Smith’s released report, the MAGA men continue to use the diss, “Trump is your daddy”, which is SO weird. I had a discussion w/ChatGPT, why it believes “heterosexual” males would refer to another unrelated heterosexual male as such.
