And a disproportionate number of jobs are concentrated in city limits (thus corporate and income tax dollars) and disproportionate sales tax revenue. That's why I said "plenty" but wasn't giving a %. And CoA is building housing at a faster rate than any county/city in metro Atlanta or Georgia.

And to be real, the state gets plenty of those tax dollars from here.

I'm hoping so! Because these companies have only just started going into esoteric financial vehicles to fund this shit. As long as it winds up just being a spectacular waste of hoarded tech cash reserves, most people will be OK. The bigger those lending vehicles get the more we all get fucked.

Which of course means folks should be burning the whole political system to ash

An example of the tendency among journalists to defer to elites while attacking average people. Oh reporters are offering PR help to a rich well-connected, Israeli intelligence asset pedo? NBD.

Women accuse rich men of abuse? Cancel culture gone amok! Folks want to stop bombing kids? Evil bigots!

So there is a point to be made that strong state systems aid in the spread of plagues to begin with.

Except that strong trade networks were a huge plague vector in pre-modern times and was a major factor in the Justinian plague (as well as prior plagues like the Antonine plague). The later black death even hit during a relatively strong point for Medieval European states.

There's a substantial decline in desire to leave among women in 2019/20 that was after Me Too getting some wins and maintaining strong cultural relevance, and then the trend reverses in the Me Too backlash years of the Biden admin.

Good things can happen!

Just with far closer margins than they ought to. But winning by 1 is as good as winning by 100,000!

As a fan of plenty of country, I'm ashamed but not surprised that's the first genre to have a significant group of people eat up crap like this. There are fantastic country artists working today, but a ton of the fan base is just engaged in using country for in-group virtue signaling.

No. Understatement when people are being killed is the far bigger problem. And what calling it murder represents is a call for the law to intervene and begin prosecution.

Further, the law simply determines whether punishment is meted out, it is not needed for lay people to categorize an act.

They apparently sold it to put more money into OpenAI.

Which on the one hand means they're doubling down on their AI bets rather than backing out of them. But it also means they're moving their investment from a company that is printing money to one that is setting it on fire which is very lol
