Jason Schmitt, the proposed appointee for city treasurer, made campaign contributions to the HB3 last year. $249 contributions are often a sign of personal entanglements because that amount is just below the conflict-of-interest threshold. Plans may have already been in place for him a year ago.

HBPD states that while its personnel were present in LA over the weekend for the protests, they were only there in an observational role, and that the mounted unit was NOT present.

In a move signaling awareness of their impending defeat in the 6/10 library special election, the city council has initiated partial repair of the fountains. This weak PR does nothing to soften their reputation as library enemies.
Also, somebody should CPRA the book banning board applications.

Note that it is listed as being from firemen not firefighters. I guess Chad thinks women have no place in public safety professions.

When this project was first submitted, it was 12 stalls, but it has since been upsized to 24 stalls.

In the end, the Huntington Beach MAGA city council years will only be remembered for the partisan circus sideshows meant to entertain and distract, and not for any lasting accomplishments that might have built a better future for us all.

There was a hot mic moment at last night's city council meeting as Chris Kluwe approached the podium. Mayor Burns says to Gracey, "See what you started?", then chuckles. Gracey responds with something unintelligible except for the word "Trump", then Burns retorts "Oh fuck 'em". Unacceptable!
