69. The Ex-Girlfriend Murder Club by Gloria Chao- This was a quick, fun read. 📚💙
November 9, 2025 at 8:04 PM
68. American Wings: Chicago’s Pioneering Black Aviators and the Race for Equality in the Sky by Elizabeth Wein & Sherri L. Smith- A fascinating history of African American aviators, many of which I’d never heard of before. 💙📚
November 5, 2025 at 12:39 AM
67. Too Old for This by Samantha Downing- Murd3r is a young person’s game.
October 31, 2025 at 7:58 PM
66. Cooperative Care: Seven Steps to Stress-Free Husbandry by Deborah Jones- I wish every pet owner would read this and apply it. I will definitely be training cooperative care with my next puppy!
October 27, 2025 at 12:15 AM
65. The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix- I didn’t like this one as much as some of his others that I’ve read recently. 📚💙
October 25, 2025 at 12:25 AM
64. The Stardust Grail by Yume Kitasei- Interesting sci-fi standalone(?). 📚💙

60. The Story Collevtor by Evie Woods
61. The Lost Story by Meg Shaffer
62. No Body No Crime by Tess Sharpe

Sept/Oct has been busy, so I’ve gotten behind in this thread. I’ve officially met & surpassed my goal of 55 books finished this year. 📚💙
October 14, 2025 at 4:07 PM
58. Wild Dark Shore by Charlotte McConaghy- a little slow-paced for me, but definitely helped with work being slow this past week.
59. Me and Earl and the Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews- Blurb on the back says it’s the funniest book you’ll ever read about death, and it’s not wrong. 📚💙
September 20, 2025 at 1:26 AM
55. The Girl in Question by Tess Sharpe- Really enjoyed this series
56. About Time by David Duchovny- Poetry that evokes many emotions
57. Three Wild Dogs and the Truth by Markus Zusak- I’ve had some dogs like these
📚💙

September 7, 2025 at 11:18 PM
52. We Sold Our Souls by Grady Hendrix- I didn’t enjoy this one as much as How to Sell a Haunted House, but it all wrapped up pretty nicely. 📚💙
August 28, 2025 at 8:07 PM
51. How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix- went for horror for a change of pace and really enjoyed it. I think the other Philes on my list would like it too. 📚💙
August 19, 2025 at 5:56 PM
50. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Cbosky- Still going for lighter reading and still not quite succeeding. 📚💙
August 14, 2025 at 11:11 PM
49. Looking for Alaska by John Green- Trying some YA fiction for some lighter reading. Should’ve realized that John Green was not quite the right choice for that. 📚💙
August 13, 2025 at 12:39 AM
48. The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot- This book is fascinating. The author did an amazing job telling the story of Henrietta Lacks and her family alongside the story of how her cells helped to advance science. 📚💙
August 9, 2025 at 1:41 AM
47. The Boxcar Librarian by Brianna Labuskes 📚💙
August 9, 2025 at 1:36 AM
46. The Book Club for Troublesome Women by Marie Bostwick- Slow paced, but I liked the characters 📚💙
July 28, 2025 at 6:05 PM
45. The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett- This reminds me a little bit of The Guncle. I did get caught up in the story of this unconventional family. 📚💙
July 20, 2025 at 10:18 PM
44. Lilac Girls by Martha Hall Kelly- I’m back on my WW2 historical fiction. This one set itself apart by also telling the story of what happened after the war.
July 15, 2025 at 5:18 PM
43. Murder on the Main by Bruce E Martin- One of my coworkers gave this to me. One of our clients wrote it. I was surprised to learn he was an author. Not a bad historical fiction murder mystery. 📚💙
July 7, 2025 at 12:11 AM
42. Greenwild: The World Behind the Door by Pari Thomson- This was a quick YA read that is the first of a series that I wouldn’t mind finishing. 📚💙
July 5, 2025 at 11:18 PM
41. Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid- What drew me in to this book was the backdrop of the astronaut program in the 1980s and having read the author’s work before. The love story within is beautifully written and incorporated. I cried more than once & definitely recommend this book. 📚💙
June 29, 2025 at 7:41 PM
40. A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purnell- Sometimes nonfiction can be very dry and this was not. Virginia Hall’s story is exciting and her contributions during and after WW2 are remarkable. 📚💙

I spent half the day today wondering what was wrong with my right eye only to discover at lunch time that I’d somehow managed to put 2 contacts in the same eye. I’ve had a migraine since last night and was relieved that I didn’t have to find a new neurologist for a new migraine symptom.
June 25, 2025 at 2:08 AM
39. The Lilac People by Milo Todd- This was also a book club pick, but much more my speed. Historical fiction, WW2. Beautifully written and definitely emotional. 📚💙
