It’s the level of loneliness portrayed in that chapter that causes the “side” characters to remain ingrained in the readers forever.

No - but I really like this idea. As much as I love my teacher friends, I think mixing up the groupings at staff meetings would do a lot for school culture.

100 percent. And move their groups every six weeks. They get to know more people (and less anxiety for those who don’t have anyone to sit by). Many students confessed they like this by the end of the year because they knew most of their classmates, which doesn’t happen in secondary often enough.
