Just finished Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and it is by far my favorite historical fiction this year. Homegoing traces the generational impact of colonialism and slavery in Ghana and America across 250 years. Showing us its residual effects longer after it was abolished. Amazing read

Pachinko is an epic historical saga that follows a Korean family over four generations as they fight for survival. At its core, the book is a tribute to the immigrant experience and the desire in all of us to find a place where we can call home and truly belong. A great read

Finished Killers of the Flower Moon earlier this year and it's a fantastic nonfiction. Grann crafts a perfect balance between detailed historic info and a compelling narrative. Must read for fans of true crime and anyone interested about the dark corners of American history

RF Kuang's Babel has solidified her as one of my favorite fantasy authors. An erudite and gripping read, her prose is sharp and intelligent and urgent. Really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick is a fascinating insight into the economy, social dynamics and political landscape of North Korea. So full of heartbreak and trauma but also of love and the beautiful complexity of human connection. A must read
