Black/African Americans should be encouraged to study healthcare-related courses to provide culturally appropriate care to Black/African Americans and other minority populations. Policymakers should support equitable access through targeted funding and initiatives that prioritize racial equity. Other Section Conclusions This review highlights systemic inequities affecting Black/African American children with ADHD and ASD, including delayed diagnoses and barriers to timely care. Culturally tailored interventions, like the SoC, PTA, and BBB programs, when scaled up, can empower parents and improve access. Integrating diagnostic models in primary care settings will reduce wait times, enabling earlier interventions. Trust-building through community engagement and culturally aligned programs is essential to address historical mistrust in minority communities. While policy-level initiatives, such as those funded by the Autism CARES Act, contribute significantly, more coordinated efforts are needed. The lack of ADHD-specific interventions underscores a critical gap, necessitating a muiti-level approach to ensure equitable care.

Children with vestibular processing difficulties may bump into things and appear clumsy. They often enjoy activities like swinging, dancing, spinning, and jumping Somatic Regulation Strategies Somatic movement is mind-body movement that Supernova Parentino focuses on the internal experience of the movement rather than the appearance or outcome. Progressive muscular relaxation (PMR) Tensing and releasing different parts of the body, usually in a systematic way. Tensing on the in-breath and releasing on the out breath. California CSEFEL Teaching Pyramid Framework teachingpyramid Preschool Moving from Praise to Acknowledgment: Providing Children with Authentic Support "The only lifelong, reliable motivations are those that come from within, and one of the strongest of those is the joy and pride that grow from knowing that you've just done something as well as you can do it." -- Lloyd Dobens and Clare Crawford-Mason When a child has done something impressive, instead of saying, "Good job," try one of the following: 1. Report what you see (narrating). A short, objective statement such as, "You put your dishes in the tub," or "You figured out a solution to the problem," acknowledges children's efforts and allows them to judge for themselves the merits of their achievement. Elaborate on the details of their actions to provide more specific feedback. For example, "It looks like you used blue and green to make an ocean." 2. Connect it with a desired character trait, value, or expectation (PDA: Positive, Descriptive Acknowledgment). When a child does something that is an example of a character trait, value or expectation, add the expectations language to the comment. For example, if a child has put away toys on the floor say, "You cleaned up the blocks. You are keeping the area safe." Or if they helped a friend you might say, "You gave Yoon Seo the fire truck.
