It's never too early to prepare for the Minnesota State Fair!

I was in a workout class this morning. The coach said something hyperbolic about, "having to do 37 burpees." It was compulsive. I couldn't stop it. I yelled, "IN A ROW?" Everyone just stared at me. 🫠

Has anyone else read the book Orbital? I'm not usually a fan of super literary books like this but… is this maybe the closest I'll ever get to really viscerally understanding what it's like to be an astronaut?

Why does AirPods audio routing only fail and fall back (at top volume!) to iPhone speakers when attractive men are around? And why does it only happen when I'm listening to an operatic version of Hark the Herald Angels Sing and never when I'm enjoying some super cool indie tunes?

What's the name of the maxim, akin to Murphy's Law, that says, "Whatever room you need to be in, so must the robo vacuum"?

Happy gotcha day to my beloved little Toby monster!! From a scrawny, scrappy street dog to the most spoiled animal to ever walk the earth, so much can change in five years.

Sometimes you just have to have a snuggle with your smiley, squeaky cupcake.

I watched the new Superman movie on a plane just now. Admittedly I dislike superhero movies. But why doesn't someone make a Clark Kent film?? I would find it endlessly more enjoyable.

Just in case I forget where I am, the hotel room artwork really sends the reminder "YOU ARE IN THE BAY AREA."

Today a Gen Z-er asked me, "how do you get your hair that color silver? Is it chalk?" I said, "no, but I can refer you to my stylist. His name is Father Time." She didn't get it. Meanwhile I'm still chortling. Kids wanting to replicate my white hair because it's trendy (?!?) doesn't get old.

The Humans by Matt Haig. Get this: the primary plot is about solving the Reimann Hypothesis. Yes! Really! Things I never thought could drive a fictional narrative…. And while it is a love letter to pure mathematics, it's also a celebration of humanity.

I finally found a mug that I thought represented the appropriate serving size for a cup of tea. I just found the receipt for it in my purse and noticed it is a "soup bowl with handle." Sigh.

With that, Halloween is wrapped! I'm advocating for harsher punishment for parole violators, Stan. And also world peace.

Me: there are so many great new games to play and not enough time.
Also me, in this, the year of our Lord, 2025.

Everything is awful except for the St. Paul Parks and Recreation department, which is on its 10th year of dressing up as Parks and Rec for Halloween. Photo credit to their Facebook page, where you can find all their costumes through the years. www.facebook.com/share/p/1Ahw...

I was organizing a closet. I returned to the living room to discover Toby had done some organizing of his own: specifically, eschewing the notion that the dog toys belong in the toybox.

I'm looking forward to the utility my new sticker is sure to provide.
