I wish this wasn’t out of print & so expensive. Earnshaw persuasively debunks the claim that the Demon was added by the producer. Like many genre directors, Tourneur fibbed when interviewed by his fans at Cahiers du Cinema.

The real nature of #RosemarysBaby was only a surprise until 1968. By then, every kid in my grade school knew Rosemary gives birth to Satan‘s child, although most of us would not see the film for years.
