Yes, unusual and possibly will be the driest Nov-Jan. But not without precedent. Southern Cal rainy season is famously variable (left). I asked elsewhere if Dewp Depression is a useful proxy for 'evaporative demand' - p95 in the Nov-Jan period showing + for LA (right) (and others nearby).
