It’s not the sexiest of garments. It arguably looks more like a discarded fishing net. And yet it has cast a spell over the internet

In honor of the viral J.Crew 1988 roll necks, I’ll share a 1988 story. When I was a junior in high school, I went to Apple computer camp at Stanford. Please appreciate the group project we did on an Apple and dot matrix computer.

Welp, after years of planning, pots of dedicated funding, promises that despite other elements getting yanked from the plans that sidewalk repairs were still on the table, the only sidewalk on LWB that got repaved this year was the segment right in front of Bruce's house.

I’m a champagne and cashmere socialist. My champagne is Kirkland from Costco and my cashmere is second-hand that I thrifted and mended.

I’ve taken up a new cozy hobby for the big dark. I’ve been on the hunt for second (or third/fourth) hand clothing I can rehab. I seek out projects; I love mending and rehabbing. My favorite is fancy cashmere that’s dirty and has holes. I give it a glow up! I worked on these pieces yesterday!

We took on a powerful incumbent who was expected to coast to reelection.

We faced more corporate PAC money than has ever been spent attacking a candidate in a Seattle election.

We built a people-powered movement rooted in hope for our city’s future.

And we won.

This is YOUR city!

I’m biting my tongue so hard when I see some of the huge congrats posts for Mayor-elect Katie Wilson from certain parties who may have finally dual endorsed when it was clear Katie’s vision was compelling.

Speaking of cities with a progressive mayor-elect, busses (in my pics), parks and 3rd spaces, and affordable pizza, and yummy bagels, I can’t help but think of @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social! Her partner is making a dozen bagels 🥯 because I won a trivia game. So excited for Mayor Wilson and my bagels

Friendly reminder that dishwashers made after 1995 or so are so water and energy efficient that even if you ran them twice fully loaded it would still use less water than handwashing the same load.

So many "green" things feel like sacrifices. Dishwashers are not one of them.
