Never in the history of calming down was anyone calmed down by being told to calm down. Also - IMHO - now is absolutely not the right time to calm down about stuff that matters. Don't calm down, stand up!

yep - fair point - but what's the better course? I see, read, hear a bully / bullying so you 'curate' your experience? (For the record I used 'insult' - I do not equate that with bullying - that's your word and what you take from the exchange. Could you be wrong?

Idea: cabinet works together for the benefit of the country before the press is briefed and the most vulnerable people lose sleep and are scared out of their wits? Isn't that how leadership works everywhere else? People working together to flesh out ideas, scrap the bad and run with the good?

So many voices muted elsewhere because any perceived attack sees folk showered in insults and appalling language & that's a gut reaction. I have found this platform to be different so far - great to see a tone change. Worth exploring imho and perhaps protecting if we can.

...and hey, look, we're both looking a bit more closely at our language. Though I bristled a bit at the last insult tbh...maybe I'm a bit too sensitive too.

Which is exactly the point I was trying to make (clearly not well). Thanks for your patience :-) Comedy and satire have their place but - as a species - we insult and bully each other and then say "it was just a joke" far too often and it is backfiring.

ooo - ouch. I promise you it's anything but that. Do you see how your instinct tho' is to attack because you perceive an attack? Maybe I was clumsy but I love the tone of dialogue here - and tbh often find that 'it was satire' is used to cover insult (and it isn't working (for anyone)).

yep - fair point - still not sure simple name-calling posts help much (or qualify as satire). Perhaps Twitter used up all my patience in that regard. Said satirist has put me straigh by sending me a long list oif more clever stuff tho so all's well 👍
