ha ha ha good grief. dated pedagogies have a few causes, all unrelated to tech: faculty don't learn how to teach unless they take on extra PD themselves, and even the best teachers are often constrained by class size, work load, and classroom layout.

Unfortunately, Bogoch has contributed to minimizing illness throughout the pandemic, which helps bolster anti-vaccination sentiment. Many medical professionals still refuse to take responsibility for their role in allowing disinformation to flourish.

I feel for them. You end up in the position where teachers & admin consider you a problem parent, and there's so little support from other parents 💔

Recently someone told me they witnessed an angry driver exit his vehicle at an intersection to yell at the person behind him (who honked because the guy cut him off) only to realize it was a service member and quickly got back in his vehicle when he was told "you're holding up traffic."

We've been observing this problem for so long. From a 1930s student public health report: "The infected child is often forced to go to school by the parents and the teachers won't send the child home for fear of causing bad feelings... children are not kept from spreading the disease to others." 😬

I honestly can't imagine sending threats to anyone. I even try my best to keep my most uncharitable inside thoughts to myself lol

The beautiful part about this type of story is I can fully imagine how this entire situation happened but at the same time it's so unbelievable.

Two of my favourite parts of the Oakville story are that crewmembers were pelting the sub with coke bottles as well as guns, and while the poster makes it look like fashionable jorts I'm pretty sure Hal Lawrence's pants got washed off as he tried to climb aboard

It's completely vile, and a little surprising that people (exclusively men, in my experience) are emboldened to contact you without even hiding their identities. Sorry you get this hate too.
