Our programme includes one of the most powerful and emotional pieces of music in the classical symphonic repertoire - Tchaikovsky's Symphony No 6 - the “Pathétique” - which combines the elegance of the composer's melodic style with profound personal expression.

Don't miss the electrifying performance of Mozart's clarinet concerto by stunning soloist, Sarah Williamson, this Saturday night. “A tenacious player like Williamson doesn’t need gimmicks – her sonorous timbre and natural musicality speak for themselves” - BBC Music Magazine.

Mozart's love of the clarinet is evident in every phrase of this popular concerto, with an opening reminiscent of The Magic Flute leading to an exuberant conclusion. Our virtuoso soloist, Sarah Williamson, is "A tenacious player" whose "sonorous timbre and natural musicality speak for themselves”.

Rossini was one of the most popular opera composers of his time, and his musically ambitious overtures continue to please audiences today. Of Tchaikovsky's sixth symphony, he wrote to his brother "It is hard for me to tear myself away from it. I believe it comes into being as the best of my works".

We were discussing venues last night - we think the Apex is at the top (pun intended), with Snape Maltings and Saffron Hall as close seconds. Further afield, the wonderful Stables in Wavendon. Plus, of course, churches and cathedrals that add their own 'voices' to the performers' voices.

😂 👏 🔺 We agree (lucky us). Yes, Snape Maltings is wonderful too. Our pals @trianonmusicgroup.bsky.social had an exciting concert there in September, with an audience of about 600 people - and raised £££ for the RNLI as well thanks to the generosity of the magnificent people of (mainly) Suffolk.
