I saw the Work Tour in Chicago, and Michael's story of a guy digging a well to get the purest water and a woman swimming in a lake haunts me to this day. The rest of the show was great too--one of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Love to see her tail!

A friend of mine teaches first grade, and she says she has to comfort kids for weeks after they do a drill--they have nightmares and are scared about coming to school

If another dog were a possibility, I'd be on the road to meet her yesterday. Those (y)ears and that tail just pull me

He did say that, and you're right. Brass is cast and then molded, not carved. He's an idiot.

I got my mother a fuzzy heated steering wheel cover so that if she forgot her gloves, her hands still wouldn't freeze (and in the summer, it means you don't burn your hands on it when the car's been out in the sun)

But Mom!

Congratulations! You did it!

I grew up there too. It's pretty shocking to see footage of those scumbags shoving a guy's face into the pavement near where one of my best friends lived. It's good to see Evanstonians getting organized and pushing back, but this is so effing wrong.

It's where I grew up too. Seeing video of those scumbag cowards shoving a guy's face into the pavement near where one of my best friends lived hits pretty hard. It's good to see that people are standing up to them.

That's my home town. I used to drive down that street to get to various friends' houses. Not that it's any worse overall that this is happening in Evanston, but it does hit differently when it's a place that's so familiar. Glad to see all the people out there trying to protect others.

This beer dad/grandpa in Edison Park is a champ bsky.app/profile/pete...
Here's a short video of an Edison Park man confronting border patrol. You can hear others in the background. #chicago

The teens I had were very helpful. Fewer kids came by as in years past, so I was trying to shovel as much candy out the door as I could. The young kids had their parents in their ears saying don't take more than three, but the teens were happy to oblige when I begged them to take multiple handfuls.

Yeah, I grew up there. An unusual situation in which the town is generally further left than the university. I'm glad to see Evanstonians are pushing back as best they can, but it hits hard to see these things happening on streets that I recognize.

It's a light night here too. If I'd known I'd have a ton left over, I would have bought more of the stuff that I like.

Serious side-eye there

I remember hearing about that on the radio when I was a kid (Steve Dahl's show). Supposedly they worked in the basket because they're the right size, but I'd think that they'd be the wrong weight. I'm not sure if anyone actually tried it and succeeded, or if they were just bullshitting.
