Are you like… okay? The way you write makes you seem really angry about specifically this. Unless you know them personally this is a mega weird hill to die on

She asked her doctor back in the day about getting rid of the lump on her wrist. Doctor said “sure, we can do it right now, hold out your hand”, picked up a massive hardcover medical textbook, and pretended he was going to smash the shit out of it. They had a laugh afterwards and left it.

Started peeing blood, it wasn’t an infection so I was terrified it was cancer. Turned out it wasn’t pee at all and was just endometriosis being endometriosis (which I already knew I had) causing middle of the month bleeding. Big relief.

Yes, they spread their social problems here (and everywhere else) via this discourse too. I envy countries that don’t have a great command of English because at least they’ve limited some of the damage to their ways of thinking and cultures. American media is relentless in Aus.

It's crazy thinking this could happen in London. But then I remember that in Melbourne the first Westgate Bridge fell down due to a string of problems. I guess nowhere's completely immune from civil engineering/build quality issues.

Ikr, it was horrific, wasn't it? We actually discovered a lot of our towers had the same cladding that caught fire, and we had to go on a crusade to remove and replace it all. Even so, we had a close call in Melbourne before it could be replaced, but the fire brigade came SUPER fast and put it out.

I keep a bowl of water on my bedside table during the summer and use my fingers to splash it on myself a little when it’s really hot. Gives the fan a bit more cool down oomph. Works better for dry heat than humidity though.

It’s not that she hates Paldea, it’s that she desperately wants Kitakami to be acknowledged as a better place than most other places, and is hostile to outsiders.

It’s more of having a bit of an underdog complex (with her town). She comes from effectively the middle of nowhere, loves her town dearly, doesn’t want tourists stomping around and ruining the vibe (as is what happens to many tourist towns), and is very prideful in general

My mum’s going to Japan next month and has been coming up with these weird assertions like “every station that starts with shin (like Shin-Osaka) is a Shinkansen stop”, and I have to let her know she’s been lied to. It’s these bloody travel YouTubers saying random crap, every time.

One day someone will come over and be like “Jesus Christ, I didn’t know you were into dominatrix shit” and I’ll be like “oh actually she’s just here to make sure I keep my house tidy.”
