In the PURPOSE 1 randomized, controlled trial involving women in South Africa & Uganda, twice-yearly subcutaneous lenacapavir was superior to daily oral emtricitabine–tenofovir disoproxil fumarate in preventing HIV infection. Full trial results: nej.md/3zRElVj
