Looking into the setting sun, atop a hill, a vintage brass dial that looks similar to a sundial, but is actually a peak finder. Turn the dial to find a mountain peak, then look on the dial to determine the name of the mountain. The peak finder stands atop a rock pillar, which has a base of a rock platform. A valley below gleams with the golden hour sun, hedgerows define the fields. Beyond that shimmers a bay of Lake Te Anau, and beyond that, the mountains that the peak finder is intended to identify. The "real" Scarlet Pimpernel. These teeny tiny flowers are really only a few mm's across. I'd only ever seen them "in the wild" once before, so when I saw them on the other side of the world, I had to try and capture them. #EastCoastKin #Flowers #ArcanumAlumni #Photography

For #Stunday, I offer this photo that I have used as my "branding" shot, header on my website and on my photoart business card. People usually ask if it was taken in Africa. It was actually a soybean field in rural southern Ontario, Canada. #EastCoastKin #ArcanumAlumni

The rest of the sky is blue, with white clouds, and some grayish clouds form rays reaching out from the tree. there is a vague formation of a heart in the sky above the tree - partially formed by the clouds, and partially by the space between the clouds.

A flat and even beach, low tide, the water recedes leaving wet sand that reflects the afternoon light. There are only three people groups standing and watching the water - two couples and a single person, spread out, making it look virtually empty.
