Southampton FC, cybersecurity, politics, and a whole load of other things.
You’re right - we know the club owners have our best interests at heart, and after all, we’re only fans! What do we know…

Almost as if there’s an argument for some form of independent regulator with an enhanced remit when the authorities fail so badly.

I’m an atheist, but it’s a fascinating topic and definitely worth looking at further. The difference with the women’s game is an interesting one too. Football is a complex mix of community, but also huge commercialism.

Iain Dowie and Paul Moody together at Southampton, early 90’s. That was quite the partnership.

It’s just mad, no idea who they think they’re talking to. Obviously it should be reviewed, but then the right wing media will have another thing to lose its mind about.

Agreed, I think it’s two years befits it’s properly done, so mad they’re just ploughing on now with opening. Finances are a basket case.

Slap some yellow and black tape on it, all good! 🤦‍♂️ If that’s how it’s going so far, there could be some absolute horror shows in there.
November 24, 2025 at 10:41 PM
It’s been incredible. But also achieved not through some genius, but doing basics well and attacking, running at players. Who knew 🤷‍♂️
November 22, 2025 at 1:32 PM
It’s the “right” BazBall though 😉

Their owners are unlikeable at the best of times, and rarely help themselves. But this just glorious, and they’ll deservedly get absolutely rinsed for that.
November 20, 2025 at 7:45 PM
To be fair, he did point out it’s been painful for them. Presumably not as painful as being murdered, but still… 🤦‍♂️
November 18, 2025 at 11:09 PM
There’s bad news, and then there was that! Thank you for the correction 🥲

It feels surprising more organisations post run here, as well persisting with the old Twitter hellscape. It’s hardly that complex to do both, and would feel a positive step without having make a “choice”.

After *everything* it’s easy to forget what other delights Cameron left us with. If Denmark is worrying about buses, god knows what else have. The Huawei 5G thing was at least addressed, but I guess there’s a lot more.

When quantum computing breaks legacy encryption, I’m guessing we’ll find out.

Having enough of experts goes back further than I thought, clearly. I suspect I tried to erase that from my memory.
November 12, 2025 at 1:29 PM
We really need to know who the government have been using as primary advisors for this, and the online safety act.

They have “consultations” so there’s lots of feedback, but seem to have prioritised guidance from people who don’t understand the internet.
November 12, 2025 at 1:03 PM
Not sure if we’d lost them both, there has been some improvement, but could easily have lost them both.

QPR lacked final third composure, and today was pretty shambolic - Wednesday just worst.

Eckert clearly out of his depth, and plenty of players clearly still not that bothered.

Staggering that Gove has been considered bright enough for being an MP that dictates policy, let alone some kind of intellectual.
November 7, 2025 at 7:33 PM
For the first time in the conversation, I’m unsure of my facts!
November 6, 2025 at 11:03 PM
Prawn cocktail crisps don’t have prawns. It’s the magic of snacks, it’s all lies, yet if we can’t believe Jaffa cakes are biscuits, monster much are crisps, then I’m not sure I want to believe anything any more.

You’ll be telling me Irn Brew isn’t made from girders next.
November 6, 2025 at 10:55 PM
Monster munch (pickled onion, obviously), with cream cheese, white bread. Arguably the greatest (crisp) sandwich ever.

I feel this could get more tense and emotional than a discussion on Southampton’s worse ever manager 😆
