Magritte highlights the difference between reality and representation. A picture of a pipe can’t be stuffed with tobacco or smoked.
It challenges how we confuse words, images, and reality. The text contradicts what we see, forcing us to question perception.

And that's how you end up knowing that Montoya exists, but not necessarily why.
Hero? Villain? Influencer? MP? Guilty of something? It doesn't matter.
The point is that he's in the conversation.

Thus, stating that social networks have changed our agenda would not be a complete fair assertion. Nevertheless, from my point of view, only reading what can be fit in 120 characters or an Instagram post does narrow our abilities to analyse, criticise and deepen our agenda.

Furthermore, it is interesting to analyse this phenomenon through Manuel Castells' point of view, as he adds social networks to the equation, which as we saw in class, is a common media by which young people get their information from, even though the outlets behind are still traditional newspapers.

Because of this we have to ask ourselves: from what channels do we inform ourselves? What newspapers do we read? Who are the people behind those articles? Where does the money come from?

Thus, extremists believes are always in our society. However, due to the Spiral of Silence, they do not arise until they know they are strong enough to do so. And then, it is late for those who opose to them, as a majority has already started to form.

In October the 30th of 1938, Orson Welles performed on the Air a radio adaption of the novel "The War of the Worlds". Many listeners tuned in late, missing the introduction that stated it was a fictional play. A lot of people panicked, believing that the U.S. was under attack by aliens.
