The framing effect is a cognitive bias whereby a person's preferences in a decision problem depend on how their frame is presented. Framing effects on an individual's preferences can be compared to the effects of perspective on sensory perception of a phenomenon.

The Framing theory establishes that frames are responsible for defining the context shown in the media regarding news. Basically, they apply an interpretation process that determines our understanding of the world we live in.

After doing a little experiment, we were able to realize that traditional media is setting the agenda in a big way for international news.

Whereas, for national and regional news, we were not able to detect strong patterns.

The Agenda-Setting Theory might have originated at the end of the 60's decade. However, the idea that it proposes seems like it was written yesterday: the agenda by which we view our world is set by communications media.

Feedback is a quite interesting concept to understand how real conversations work, which brought a new point of view to in regards to communication, since conversations are built on better understanding each other.
During our classes on Tuesday we were discussing Wilbur Schramm’s communication model (1954). It is a foundational theory in communication studies.

This model is especially useful for understanding mass communication, interpersonal interaction, and digital media.

As Émile Durkheim states, society and the morality that defines it are created around symbols that represent its members and their relationships in an allegorical way.Thus, the totem that defines an unworldly society is just the representation of the real world and its individuals.
