I loved reading your analysis. This just reminded me that the difference between Val’s contract versus Alastor’s has been acknowledged by the show already in Loser Baby (below). Angel’s contract is more all-encompassing, but yes, sloppy. While Husk’s is less restricting, but much harder to break.

If I had a nickel for every time a sequel came out in 2025 to a piece of media with a furry ship that I like, that lowkey confirmed the ship’s romantic tension and potential without taking any actual steps to make them a couple, I’d have two nickels.
