I'm visiting all 4500 pubs in the current Good Beer Guide. One pint per pub, 25 minute minimum stay. Them's the rules!

Pub 3174, Warrington Hotel, Maida Vale. Gorgeous pub. Bell ringing worked. Impressive Christmas tree in waiting. Not a great Naked Ladies. Old men cheering for Young Boys. West London has fallen!

Pub 3173, Trinity, Borough. It was scary in the first half but Owen cared that he was in the GBG, the Hophead exceeds expectations and some casual Celtic fans cheered a goal then forgot about their second. Toxic substance on fingers but they ain't dropped off yet.

Pub 3172, Old Red Lion, Kennington. Yo! Met birthday boy @mrpoombastic.bsky.social fellow ticker! My beer from Vocation tastes dredged out of Thames. Came here once but too pissed to count as legitimate tick! Nearly tripped up man with my rucksack n broke his neck but no.

Pub 3171, British Oak, Blackheath Standard. Drama as a screw falls out of something important at this wood panelled Victorian roadside jewel. Strong pint of Double Ghost. Cockney workman in. Reckon pub has a left hand bar but no idea how to get to it!

Pub 3170, Bugle Horn, Charlton. Thrillingly random GBG entry. Pedi a bit warm but decent. Sweary Destiny's Child. Carpet a threatening 7. Had to tell impressively bearded guv he has Christmas tree in it. 'There'll be plenty more of that mate, lolz'. Two loo doors excitement.

Pub 3169, Lord Herbert, Plumstead Common. Bulky uncompromising street corner boozer, twist of the modern but enough traditional to keep me chirpy. Affable guvnor, excellent HPA, I'll be happy if every pub today is like this.

Happy lunchtime from a mild London Bridge. Late start as I slept in til 10:30am due to those Lenny Henry beds 🛏️ 😴

15 ticks to go, let's bring it down to single figs today.

Pub 3168, Dog House, Beddington. Oh yes, this is the pub! 5 star York Tonkoko. Barmaid Keeley. Main man Phil. Quiz night Ricky. All amazing folk. Messed up on Power of Love but redeemed on Up Where we Belong. Best song ever that isn't punk? Panda logo lady ftw.
November 26, 2025 at 10:47 PM
Pub 3167, Whispering Moon, Wallington. The 5.3% edges coffee, the carpet is a bold 8.5, and Georgie in the toilets, Ronnie Corbett-esque, hasn't eaten today but it's overrated anyway. A homely ' Spoons . One to go!
November 26, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Pub 3166, Asparagus, Battersea. Ex-Spoons but all the Spoons stuff they've kept is the best stuff. But I'm marking the carpet down for blurriness. 6/10. Clientele healthy mix of posh n scrote. Beer is nice if you don't look at it whilst drinking.
November 26, 2025 at 6:15 PM
Pub 3164, Balham Bowls Club, Balham. No guestbook, no buzzy intercom, no sign of bowls. But some delicious wood panelling, long lenses, and a chatty barman who likes mulled wine and both laughing at & being sympathetic to poor Sheff Wed.
November 26, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Pub 3163, Sir Julian Huxley , Selsdon. Carpet of week 9.5/10 cheers my heart. 'They're all noice, get the cheapest!' says man who looks like he knows. 'Wot a treat!' says barmaid of £1.39 a pint. Chirpy little belter of a Spoons. Forgot I've got my pyjama top on. #FittingIn
November 26, 2025 at 2:56 PM
Falcon, High Wycombe. Pre-emptive Spoons. Here on a bit of business so thought I'd sneak this in. Good qual. Carpet 7/10. Nicely uncomplicated take note Wimbledon. Back for SW London ticks x 5 or 6 this afternoon.
November 26, 2025 at 10:33 AM
Pub 3162, Wibbas Down Inn, Wimbledon. What a shambles! Longest wait for pint ever? Ain't even as busy as they claim. There's two bars, I order from the non cask one despite all beers being shown. Wish they'd just sent me to t'other. Huge place. Like 2 Spoons. Hate.
November 25, 2025 at 6:56 PM
Pub 3161, Eight Bells, Fulham. Beautiful pub but bouncer nearly didnt let me in for Chelsea reasons. Explained Hull City ain't Barcelona so he made me remove my jacket, freezing nips in the street, then let me in. My blue gloves and love of big John Bumstead help. Fack.
November 25, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Pub 3160, White Swan, Richmond. Sunset at the end of a terraced backstreet. 'My own impatience is the bane of my life' chuckles barman theatrically as he changes the Otter, fresh on, tastes great. Ain't pubs brilliant?! Excuse photo brightness, was moodier lit than this.
November 25, 2025 at 4:29 PM
Pub 3159, Robin, Stroud Green. Love this. Warm n cosy, green velvety boothy seats, Aussie 'tache, bowl of water for invisible dog. Bristol Dark Mild is perfection. All change here for South London. See u later.
November 25, 2025 at 2:23 PM
Pub 3158, Duke of St Albans, 'Kentish Town'. Too bougie for my liking, I prefer bogie. Lovely building though. Three out of eight people have smiled, not inc Yankee baby. Clinging onto the small bit of carpet like man on desert island. Still yet to ever enjoy a green hop ale.
November 25, 2025 at 1:23 PM
Pub 3157, Greyhound, Hendon. Very proper leafy London pub next to the churchyard where famous brother of a Hull City TB legend is buried. Barmaid wraps up warm so has to cope with local biker banter. The TT Landlord is spot on.

Good morning from day 2 #BRAPA London mop up with Sussex potential.

I've escaped cruel Croydon and the dreaming towerblocks for three northern ticks, before three more back down south.
November 25, 2025 at 11:54 AM
Pub 3156, Northumberland Arms, Brentford. QPR Sam and Polish Daniella sympathetic at my Hull City ways at this tight knitter. Ale served from beneath your eyeline but Oakham guest drinks well, despite my brief spill. See u tmw , might head to N4. Oof.
November 24, 2025 at 8:49 PM
Pub 3155, Red Lion, Isleworth. I only knew how to pronounce it thanks to Soccer a.m. Irish lads tell me Hull is great and don't listen to what others say! Errrm, thanks. Only beer is an unbadged Black Sheep. Chalky n true. Gorgeous tight red benches.
November 24, 2025 at 6:51 PM
Pub 3154, Builders Arms, Teddington. Oh yes, today really caught light now. Literally, I am by the fire and the Scouse barman lit my candle. He's as depressed as the Spurs fan he chatted to. Gorgeous pub. Wood panel benchy box one room glorious.
November 24, 2025 at 5:44 PM
Pub 3153, Prince Albert, Twickenham. More like it! Even if local wideboys can't maintain eye contact. The 180th Anniv Fullers is good like Stevie said, half Pride/ESB? Sweaty Euro student reads a classic. Can't see which one. Grotto of a pub. Cosy.
November 24, 2025 at 4:27 PM
Pub 3152, Admiral Nelson, Whitton. Tempted by the Vintage again, but I resist. For now! Open plan pastel gloom hole with happy colourful side lounge inc bad art n comfy benching. I'm told beers are on the wrong pumps. Bar blocker didn't like me smiling.
