I know the field is already flooded with Shit, and it's hard to focus on any one thing, but this should be the priority.

It's an offshore concentration camp
With capacity larger than any prison I know of
In a place synonomous w/ indefinite detention.

one of the illusions of the neat division into "dynasties" in Chinese history is that we miss how much of it, even in the relatively stable and clear dynasties, looked like Syria - a complex and shifting map of regional, ethnic, and religious loyalties

I can’t believe hard is it for democrats, online lefty people, and normies to coalesce around “rich people are fucking you.”
The Democrats should stop conceptualizing the 2026 campaign as "vote for the party which is most ethically consistent on executive powers."

The campaign should be, "vote for the party that will use the tools at its disposal to stand up to fascists and defeat the billionaires stealing your money"
If the other side doesn't follow the norm, it's not a norm. That is like the DEFINITION of a norm

Can anyone point me toward an analysis of why state-level ranked choice voting ballot initiatives have done so poorly in recent elections?

Solar was 76% of new US capacity in September and 78% during the first nine months of 2024.

Solar plus wind are now more than 21% of US generating capacity; all renewables combined are 30%.

We're seeing consequences of how the breakdown in one party can lead to corrupt behavior by another.

Biden would not abuse his power if Trump wouldn't abuse his.

Doesn't excuse Biden, but it shows the negative feedback loop of democratic backsliding

I cannot believe the amount of Biden apologists I’m seeing on here making excuses for the pardon of Hunter. Morally indefensible and political malpractice.
