Idk he celebrates them tho, and often included actors from them like with Sonny Chiba. He lists them in interviews and encourages people to seek them out. He also helped bring more material arts moves over to America. Like when he presented Iron Monkey.

actually building on this... Youtube could benefit from some more structural conventions. Right now there monetization rules are guiding the form and they want infinite watching. So everything is padded and stretched ect. Im not advocating for one size fits all but rather some intelligent design

Nah. Netflix makes binge TV and second screen viewing. They don't do weekly, they don't structure episodes for ads and for cliffhangers for next week ect.

Absolutely! TV should lean into serialized structures, tho they should probably be updated from broadcast. Film is the medium.
