Finished another sweater, this one for summery beachy weather, though it's too warm for especially hot days. Got a chance to wear it this evening at Venice Beach today though!

Every time I see this ad I’m unsettled and I finally figured out why.

Well I tried. The person who posted it says they are an artist who works for the shop and use AI as a “tool.” They do not believe it contradicts with the values of a creative reuse space.

The white yarn is slated for a camisole (Camisole No. 5 by My Favorite Things Knitware, probably) and the red will be for the Take a Bow top by Erica Bernstein, to be cast on closer to Christmas.

As a kid I used to get so excited buying new art supplies. Then I fell off traditional art and buying supplies felt wasteful and pointless and I felt guilty when I did nothing with any of them. Buying yarn takes me back to being a bright eyed kid again. So much potential in these fibers!

Boozy Tres Leches Tiramisu Recipe Special Equipment: - 9x13 dish - Standing mixer, hand mixer, or a whisk and a strong arm - Double boiler - Two mixing bowls and a shallow dish - Flexible spatula Ingredients: Dipping Liquid: * 6 oz (3/4 c) evaporated milk * 6 oz (3/4 c) strong coffee * 4 oz (1/2 c) sweetened condensed milk * 1 oz (2 T) Kahlua (optional, see note) * 1/2 t ground cinnamon * 1/4 t kosher salt Zabaglione: * 6 egg yolks (see note) * 2 oz (1/4 c)sweetened condensed milk * 2 oz (1/4 c) Kahlua (optional)
 Mascarpone mixture: * 16 oz (1 lb) mascarpone cheese * 2 t vanilla bean paste or vanilla extract * 1/4 t salt Whipped Cream * 8 oz (1 c) cold heavy cream * 2 oz (1/4 c) Kahlua (optional) Assembly: * 40-45 ladyfingers/savoiardi * cocoa powder, for dusting * cinnamon, for dusting Recipe: 1. In a shallow bowl wide enough to dip the ladyfingers in, mix together dipping liquid ingredients. Set aside. 2. Combine 6 egg yolks, 2oz sweetened condensed milk and 2 oz Kahlua into a heatproof bowl. Set over an inch of simmering water in a saucepan (do not let the bottom of the bowl touch the water). Whisk continuously for 8-12 minutes until thickened, doubled in volume, and lighter in color. Remove from heat, let cool. 3. In a separate bowl, combine 16 oz mascarpone, 2t vanilla bean paste and 1/4t kosher salt. Beat until fully incorporated, about 30 seconds. (May need to use an immersion blender to smooth out lumps.) 4. In a large, clean bowl, beat 8 oz heavy cream and 2 oz Kahlua at medium-high speed until soft peaks form, scraping down the bowl halfway through, 2-4 minutes m. 5. Mix 1c mascaroone mixture into cooled egg mixture, then when incorporated add the remaining mascarpone. Fold the whipped cream gently in batches until just combined. 6. Dip ladyfingers one at a time in dipping liquid and place in baking dish. Nestle them together tightly and break as needed until bottom of baking dish is covered, about 20 lady fingers. Drizzle about it 1/4 c of dipping liquid over lady fingers. 7. Transfer half the cream mixture over the lady fingers and spread into an even layer. Dust with a mix of cinnamon and cocoa powder. 8. Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers. Drizzle up to 1/4 c of remaining dipping liquid over the ladyfingers. Top with remaining cream mixture and smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 6 hours or overnight. 9. Right before serving, sprinkle with cocoa powder and cinnamon. Serve with strawberries and whipped cream, if desired. Notes: - You can replace the Khalua with another alcohol of your choice, additional coffee, or omit it entirely. - If you don’t want to waste 6 egg whites, you could whip them up into a meringue and fold in to cream mixture after the whipped cream. Be gentle, you don’t want to knock the air out.

I’ll post the recipe tomorrow and it’s like 90% there - the mascarpone mix split a bit and I don’t know if that’s a temperature thing or if I should have hit it with an immersion blender or something. Still tasty as is tho!
