Apparently such statements ARE rage bait for people who need something to be angry abput 24/7.

Because our international tourism isnt dying quickly enough due to other shitty policies, they want to really make sure to kill it.

My dog needs meds in the AM, but he thinks his pill is a treat, so he wakes me up every morning at like 7AM and annoys me till he gets his meds (followed by walk time & food).

I feel like people highly misunderstand how news cycles have changed.
These days theres often very little new news coming out over weekends & holidays, so stuff like this becomes the only news. And people are paying more attention to news while theyre not at work & sitting around.

All those people waiting in airports with news on the TVs - that they might not see if they were home. Listening to the radio while travelling. All while hardly any other new news is dropping.
It seems like a backwards understanding of how many people consume information.

So I dont get the whole theory behind dropping news before a weekend or holiday weekend as a way to minimuze the impact of news stories, it almost seems the opposite to me.

Maybe back in the day things worked differently when there were limited media resources, but even that seems weird bc the sunday edition of newspapers used to be the biggest sellers - many people only subscribing to the sunday edition.
So the most recent news drops would be highlighted.
