Someone summed this up for me, a child of someone who survived cancer, and someone who just lost a beloved aunt to cancer.
Reminder: Joe Biden is not going to read all of your callous, vicious comments about how cancer is "karma" for bad people and how happy you are about the suffering and pain he'll endure. But cancer survivors will read them. And people who have just been diagnosed will read them. And people who are watching someone they love wasting away from it will read them. And people who have buried their spouses, children, or parents because they didn't survive it will read them. So stop being awful. -Rememberingmountains22

Universal Health Coverage does not exist in the United States for two reasons: (1) there is a general unwillingness to dismantle the historically grown framework of the most complex mix of public and private sector health coverage and (2) mere cost considerations. The first concern can be abated by establishing a Universal Health Coverage system which retains many or most of the grown U.S. health infrastructure. The two proposed pathways presented herein comprise either (1) a leveled solution through Medicare-expansion for the uninsured only or (2) a more complex solution through a national, 2-tier healthcare system for all Americans. Both pathways are based on solid financing without major tax increases by using existing and/or yet untapped funding sources. For the sake of forming a more perfect union as stated in the Constitution, Universal Health Coverage in the United States must no longer be an illusion that continues to haunt our society in the 21st century.

Right. I feel like right now, what this generation definitely needs is rock. Even if we genuinely analyze it, I think we still feel the same. But there’s not much use in analyzing so I’m not thinking that much about it. It’s the same with meeting Rob and being able to do sessions with Ed at this time. Also with how the pandemic has put the world on hold, and the racial issues. The scenery I saw this past year and a half doesn’t apply to anything but rock. It’s like I can’t break it down with anything other than rock. That’s why now, I confront rock with confidence. After all, rock has a rebellious spirit, doesn’t it? I think the present can be represented by the character “反7.” “Renegades” means “hangakusha“8, and now is the time that the minority is trying to overwhelmingly replace the majority. But even then, I think the people in the minority are surrendering themselves to their emotions. That’s why when the minority becomes the majority, I feel like it’ll be very important whether or not there’s a proper leader to take the helm. While confidently pulling the character “反” towards a positive direction, I hope a new generation can properly open up.

She then pivots to blaming public schools for kids not believing in God, throwing out a random stat that only 15% of students graduate high school believing in Jesus. Conveniently, she skips over the fact that many students come from different faith backgrounds-because, apparently, if it's not Jesus, there's just no room for it in American public schools.

When brains rot, truth fades In his memoir, American writer and naturalist Henry David Thoreau lamented society’s declining capacity for deep thought and intellectual effort, favouring instead simple and superficial thinking. In 1854, he wrote in his book Walden: “While England endeavors to cure the potato-rot, will not any endeavor to cure the brain-rot, which prevails so much more widely and fatally?” Thoreau may have seen a future where the U.S. would be led by a president who not only lacks the capacity for deep thought and self-reflection but also disregards historical facts and moral values. Bullshitters shift the rules of conversation by making questions of truth and falsehood irrelevant. Lies and the truth simply become tools that can be used to tell their story — regardless of the facts. One century later, when our online feeds are flooded with endless digital content, it is uncanny to revisit Simmel’s observation. We must move beyond traditional diagnostic digital literacy and competency frameworks. The problem lies not only in the technology itself, but in the broader socio-economic system in which it operates — a consumer-capitalist-digital complex that is eroding our brains and cultures. Humans have always been fascinated by stories. We need them to understand ourselves. However, social media’s profit-driven algorithms homogenize experiences and ultimately undermine cultural diversity. We have become storysellers instead of storytellers.

I speak billionaire fluently, so allow me to translate. When Musk says he wants to run the government like a business, he means that he wants to slash the benefits it provides. When he says the government needs to "live within its means," he means it needs to cut taxes on billionaires and cut services for everyone else. And when he says “temporary hardship," what he has in mind is that he and his friends will continue to live lives of inconceivable luxury while millions struggle to make ends meet.
