Flags in Iowa are a half mast today. Why is that? Well it's for a WWII veteran who died 81 years ago. Its certainly not a thinly veiled political statement about something that happened on a much more recent October 7.

I'm not sure why we try to paint narratives on these guys. They're never part of the establishment left or right or any coherent political ideology. The only thing that is clear is that we have a real problem in this country with guns and mental health.

Someone recently told me how many famous musicians have died in plane crashes. For perspective, here's a Wikipedia article listing all 47 of them. Wikipedia does not have a comparative article for deaths in car crashes, but heres a list of all musicians by cause of death. There are way more than 47.
