Retiring and being left to my own devices is something that I daydream about. I have decades before that will be possible though ^^;

Any billionaires out there want to fund a quality of life project for literally all ADHD'ers? 😅

The weekend is strangely not a good time for posting things, so I have it scheduled for Tuesday.
Also, that's a good idea to write about. I should do some research ^^

Hyperfixation is a longer term magnetic, sometimes intrusive, draw to a topic, food, or interest over the period of days or weeks, leading us to prioritize it above other things and repeatedly come back again and again.
Where hyperfocus lasts hours, hyperfixation lasts days, weeks, or even months

That makes me sad to hear. There is joy and interest doing projects you love. I hope that you can stop beating yourself for not getting them finished finished instead and enjoy the ride

It definitely applies well beyond neurodivergent conditions, doesn't it?
Being misdiagnosed for any condition can have serious impacts on physical and mental health, imo.
I'm sorry that happened to you. I hope the long-term impacts aren't too bad

Too bad the impacts of the years trauma, bullying, self-guilt, and negative self-talk can't be ignored as easily eh?

Let's be clear, this happens because of what people tend to assume about autistic people in the first place.
There's an assumption that autistic people aren't intelligent or struggle with skills understood to be core to intelligence. This isn't universal (or even generally) true

I hear you. I felt similarly when I was finally diagnosed in grad school. It's hard imagining what could have been with more understanding, support, and treatment eh?
I've gotten a more nuanced view on that with time and it hurts less now. I don't know if this will be true for you but hang in there
