UM updated its two factor authentification system two years ago after a breach caused my someone thoughtlessly approving a log in that they weren’t doing. This was after the hack caused them to basically unplug the internet on campus to stop the loss of sensitive info.

I have heard that they don’t use the university branded AI because they think it’s “bad” and “inferior” to other models. But this is also funny

Meanwhile most models are actually very fucking bad at telling people of color apart or even recognizing their faces. I wonder if there’s some confounding barrier bullshit at play here 🧐
