My brain thinks strange thoughts, so I share them with others
Meanwhile it is certain that nothing Dutton will help, and he will almost certainly inflame the situation

He may put a lid on antisemitism temporarily, but it will be at the expense of broader social cohesion

All these things can be true:
1. Antisemitism is on the rise in Australia
2. It is still less of a problem than in many European countries
3. Netanyahu and Liberals are weaponising the issue for political ends
4. Albo is limited in what he can do to stop it

Well this is one way to ensure that we are not too cavalier about dumping political leaders in #auspol
Demand a non-refundable $350,000 entrance fee to contest the leadership ballot

In the latest installment of unsurprising news...

This is straight out of the Reagan playbook
Let hostages rot for months for electoral advantage
Then magically the deal that has been on the table for moths gets accepted

Election debates have been getting duller and less informative every cycle

The format needs to change
Imagine all parties involved in a round robin of 1-on-1 debates
The candidates ask the questions and really push their opponent instead of bland journo questions

That is entertainment

According to Wikipedia he is quitting
Need to see how an independent would run there
It is a very big division

1. The headline mentions that Guilfoyle is a Fox News host, but not that she is engaged to Don Jr. A far more relevant fact

2. Wondering if they will be moving the embassy from Athens to the Greek Islands to better suit their lifestyle

Amazing how people can screw this country up over and over and yet keep getting invited back to advise government

On Allen's "business council" there is the usual assortment of big business and billionaires

How about a small business owner, sole trader, union rep or homeless person?

There must be some really bad polling coming out of Bradfield for Fletcher to jump ship

And another 'moderate' bites the dust with his seat likely to go to another Pentecostal
Pushing the Libs further to the right

The Liberal party are consistently taking the side of racists in making minority groups less safe in Australia

The Greens and Labor are not great, but at least they are not actively trying to destroy social cohesion

But the LNP seem willing to burn the country down to win back government

It is worth remembering that Norman's greatest moment was not on the track

But most importantly, he seems to be struggling with the idea that independents work independently of each other

So to help him out I have included a definition of independent here for him

I would love it if Paul Fletcher could point to the major reforms brought about by 'stable' majority government in #auspol

Is he talking about
-Tax reform
-Environmental law
-Mining royalties
etc

As far as I can tell the only real reform (NDIS, price on carbon) were due to the 2010 minority govt

The idea that name recall of MPs that left parliament over 30 years ago deliver any electoral benefit is moronic

And to suggest that it was coordinated between all the independent movements
December 2, 2024 at 12:57 AM
At least we know that elections cannot be rigged in Victoria
You need a basic level of competency to pull that off
November 29, 2024 at 12:19 AM
With a few minor adjustments this Canadian article could have been written about just about any jurisdiction in #auspol

Politics today is more about how our MPs are failing us
And what they are doing to distract us from that fact

Albo claiming that world leaders are applauding his social media legislation gives of serious Jeb Bush vibes

Kylie Tink's colour was pink
And other candidates had slightly different shades of teal/blue (see below)

It is almost like they are independent of each other...
If only there were a word to describe that sort of politician

This stupid misdirection is the problem
We spend so much time and effort fighting what doesn't matter
So when the ALP-LNP coalition screw us over we don't fight it

Focus on what matters
-Fix health
-Fund schools
-Build houses
-Tax multinationals

Everything else is a distraction

Honestly, this is what passes for journalistic analysis?
Who gives a crap where she lives. It will have zero impact on anything that goes on in the White House.

It is focusing on trivialities over policy that lets really horrible politicians into parliament.

What went wrong with his model?
Besides that it is complete bullshit on multiple levels

We have to stop listening to incompetent 'experts' and start doing the work on the ground
