Interstellar (2014) Christopher Nolan
#NASAChanges

I was impressed with how the corn looked; I had NO idea what kind of trip I was in for. I wanted to cry the whole time. beautiful beautiful beautiful. truly believe the fantasy genre simply existed to buy time until we could make movies like this.

Tangerines (2013) Zaza Urushadze
#filmsky

this is my kind of war movie.
the story isn't in the weapons or the missions, it's in the people.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020) David Dobkin

I put this on to fold laundry to and had to take several dance breaks.

gonna tell my kids this was the only movie. #caturday

Pig (2021) Micael Sarnoski

I know he thought he ate with a poignant metaphor about grief, but I thought to myself, "oh so the line is about the movie. it's only gonna get good at end."

it's giving a promising young pig by emerald truffell I'm so sorry.

Party Girl (1995) Daisy von Scherler Mayer

I was afraid I'd never feel the party monster rush again, but this got pretty close. it's also its own thing.

I remember walking by this as a kid at dvd rental places. parker posey was so pretty, and I made this out to be way more salacious in my head.

Parasite (2019) Bong Joon Ho

not to be annoying but I wrote/presented a paper that explored the relationship between English as a global language and labor as suggested by the imagery of doors, windows, and walls in Bong Joon-Ho's english language films compared with those in Parasite.

Suspiria (1977) Dario Argento

after I audibly gasped I said, "audible gasp," and felt that feeling so many times throughout. not surprising in a movie named after sighing.

The Slumber Party Massacre (1982) Amy Holden Jones

it started off really strong. lots of boobies and actually shot interestingly besides. there's good tension, and even though the gore could be more gratuitous, I was still having a good time.

Titane (2021) Julia Ducournau

I feel like there's three modes to good body horror:

- watch through fingers
- look away
- cover eyes so I don't even accidentally see anything

I discovered the third one through this movie.

then there were times when I could NOT look away.
