Happy new year! Very interesting text, but "thesis, antithesis, and synthesis" are very much NOT Hegelian concepts! Those are elements of Fitche's method, and never mentioned in Hegel.

Still, a very good exploration, even if it seems a little biased against postmodernism!

here's why!
Desire as Commodity There is a crucial distinction between modern capitalism and postmodern capitalism: a difference in the object of desire. In modern capitalism, Marx saw commodity fetishism: At bottom, money is just a piece of paper without use. It exists in contrast to actually useful goods and services. However, one is conditioned by society to imagine there exists a fool who will accept those pieces of paper and trade them for actually useful goods and services. The catch is that once we imagine this, our behavior changes; we begin pursuing money in order to exchange with the fool. We even begin to trade goods and services for this money, which we “know very well” is worthless. So, the other’s desire becomes our desire. Once we all each imagine a fool like this out there, we all become fools. This is, summarized, the core of how modern capitalism channels desire. As desire, it is an irrationality with a sublime object — that means it competes with other irrationalities. Capital versus Tradition Desire is always motivated by sublime objects, which are defined by an imagined Other. It can appear in many forms. Fascist desire imagines an Other who is evil and lies, such that when it appears evil that’s because it’s evil, and when it appears good that’s because it lies. All attempts to refute this appear as attempted lies. By reflexivity, it causes the imagining subject to become the imagined Other: someone who wants, beyond reason, to exterminate the other. Sexual desire imagines an Other who wants to be desired the imagining subject. This causes similar irrefutable “white knight” situations where, when faced with rejection, the subject imagines the Other is lying, playing hard to get. So, desire is always independent of facts, and just as it collapses the Other into an object, it also flattens the desiring subject into a one-dimensional machine. This mode of being is independent of pleasure, and can lead to painful ethical sacrifices, both good and bad, yet radical. Traditional desire is immediately irrational. Capital differs by being individually utilitarian, and societally irrational. Desire as Commodity: Capital avec Tradition What changes from modern capitalism to postmodern capitalism is the object of desire, which now can only be desire itself. That is, where before tradition and modernity were opposed as two different kinds of desire (transgressive and utilitarian), now it is as if modernity has ‘domesticated’ tradition, found the utilitarian function of transgressiveness. Tradition has become a species of the genus Modernity, and the best capitalist today is the one who can channel anti-capitalist desire for capitalist ends. Anti-utilitarianism is now utilitarian. Examples of postmodern capitalism (and ills) include: Mark Fisher’s Capitalist Realism, where “nothing runs better on MTV than a protest against MTV.” Byung-Chul Han’s Burnout Society, where “The complaint [...] “Nothing is possible,” can only occur in a society that thinks, “Nothing is impossible.” Slavoj Žižek’s notion of a “postmodern, permissive, pragmatic etiquette towards sex. It's horrible. They claim sex is healthy; good for the heart, for blood circulation.”
