it runs. pretty purple icon! also initially the icon still didn't work properly, but now i find a fix i couldn't find before. chosen solution here, god knows how i missed it before. maybe because it was a snap there wasn't actually a .desktop file to munge afaik. support.mozilla.org/eu/questions...

NB: Am already running the snap, but unreasonably(?) annoyed by the broken linkage between it and its application icon in the dock (it runs with an anonymous cog icon) why is *only* the snap build made for this arch?

well yes, although that doesn't preclude educating boys too. educate everyone regardless. but making that actually happen, yes, needs some backup.
