Posting up at the monthly back-end tournament here in Berlin. Currently going quite well so much so that I have time for a bite before the next round. I got a new lucky hat!

They come in Zehn (10) packs here, not in dozens. Of course we got some! 2/2

I knew the reason why eggs here in Europe aren't refrigerated, but I didn't know that every single one of 'em would have a code on the shell. Found it curious, figured it was quality control of some sort. And it is! At a farmer's market yesterday came across a neat placard explaining it. 1/2

Backgammon tournament day in Hamburg. Two of my favorite things... Rolling the dice and watching the fußball.

Left a couple of hours early today to visit another large Park here in Hamburg.

Foggy chill day in Hamburg, just the way I like it. Breakfast at a local Portuguese bakery. Walked a portion of the harbor, then up through the park.

Took a train from Berlin to Hamburg last night, there's a local backgammon tournament on Saturday that I'd like to investigate. Super quick train service, two and a half hours from our apartment to hotel. Staying in the Portuguese quarter by the harbor. Have all day today to explore.

Walking home from language class.. our apartment faces North so it is very rare. You can see the Moon. Just caught it as I rounded the corner before going back into our place.

More travels in Berlin, more pictures of the U-Bahn stations...

Uhrlandstraße is one of the oldest stations in the city.

Fehrbelliner Platz was once the administrative center for much of West Berlin before the wall came down.

Celebrated our Tochter's 25th birthday today at a local Dim Sum restaurant in Charlottenburg - INCREDIBLE! Everything was amazing, I'd rate it above any place I've been to on the west coast. She was very pleased, we're home now and very 'suppenschlaf' currently.

B-Day 32. I've been here a month already? Today is the first day of German 1.2 and I'm pretty sure it is gonna kick my ass.

When I accidentally cut myself, it happens in cycles. Usually 3 or 4. Am I clumsy? Not normally. But here we are. Knife to the thumb during breakfast. Then...caught my finger while inserting our the key into the door of our flat. How does that happen????

Berlin Marathon has been streaming down the street at the end of the block all morning!

B-Day 7. Language school is coming along nicely. Just stopping for a latte and a croissant before hitting the books.

B-Day 5... Off to school for the first time in decades. Let's see if this aged brain can still retain language.

I've made a few trips via Reykjavik to Europe in the last decade and it never ceases to amaze me. Constant dawn on the horizon that never ends during the journey.

Dinner last night - braised pork belly with carrots and broccoli, lemon zucchini on the side. Had a cream/dill sauce for the zuccs, but it really didn't do anything to the flavor.

Moving in 25 days! Everything in the freezer must go! Pulled out a pork collar to slow roast today, using Tom Hixson's recipe. Dabbling with some tournament poker at the same time - two of my favorite things.🍽️

Flying above the Deep Desert. Dune: Awakening has been a really fun game, even for someone now on longer has the PvP skills to excel. I can skitter and stay in the shadows of the dunes and still advance. Definitely recommend for the story and the atmosphere.
