They removed the only if Texas does it clause, but nonetheless they hopefully are still committed to independent redistricting. As is mentioned in the text of Prop 50. In other words, they are committed to do what is the norm in a number of countries like Australia. Independent redistricting.

There are plenty of students across both liberal and conservative states that don't have the best educational outcomes or even finish school. So, there has to be improvement. Not sure how mocking staff on X and destroying a department that is not responsible for most funding or curriculum helps.

Is there any country or US administration that chooses the right thing over politics or oil?

Eating right and exercise are important. It can help reduce some diseases, but what is his actual plan on helping people do those things? If he wants people to do their bit, can he do his. Make sure that nursing homes are well run, part of his job. Make sure people have access to good healthcare.

Agreed, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." Focus on the plight of them instead of a Korean show.

We do need to do more to stop the impacts of alcohol.

Oh, this again. Yes, every time an immigrant comes to Australia legally, we need to provide them with a welcome, a jar of vegemite and the obligatory, blame them for every problem. It is good to see the leader of the Liberal Party talking about infrastructure being the issue not immigrants.

Are there examples of where we do a good job helping people in need? This war has dragged on, and support is not enough to win. Australia for example has spent about 1.5 billion in assistance {a tiny amount vs AUS defense budget}. There was the Gaza aid crisis. The Myanmar UN fund is underfunded.

I am a big fan of philanthropy, but I feel like this is not quite what I want. I will let myself out, thanks. Do something about malaria for people. People can donate to organizations like the Malaria Consortium.

So, many lives lost. Rest In Peace. And it still kills and harms people globally even though there is treatment. For those that can, please donate to groups like @unaids.org or @eltonjohnaidsfoundation.org or @frontlineaids.bsky.social

True, but that's what makes it even more absurd. There are still hundreds of thousands of cases a year globally. And people missing out on what is free and effective treatment. www.leprosymission.org

And not having good sanitation. "In 2025, in the richest, most powerful country in the world, many people are still forced to depend on PVC pipes to funnel parasite-infested wastewater from the bathroom and kitchen..." www.theguardian.com/us-news/2025...

I find the recidivism issue a concern in countries like the US {and others}. Surely, after the 1000th person reoffends, we might get a hint that the current prison system is not quite working. And perhaps better rehab, supports, and post-release support would be better. No, just do the same thing.
November 17, 2025 at 4:42 AM
Yes, that is a bizarre way to do things. "Give me what I want now, or I will trash the place." Most countries manage to deal with disagreements better than that. Australia had something vaguely similar once in the 1970s with the block of the supply bill. And never did it again.

You are being too tough on yourself. free will is not the issue. It is the selfishness, the ineffective policies to combat societal issues, not donating enough to charity, free will {oh, darn it}....

Fear seems to be a reason people buy guns. A gun does not protect you against a bad government. It does not really protect against other people with guns because even people who own guns have been harmed. I think we need more effective anti-crime measures to be safe. www.npr.org/2025/11/15/n...
More liberals, people of color and LGBTQ Americans say they're buying guns out of fear
The image of gun ownership in America has been white, rural and Republican, but that's been changing as more liberals and minorities have been buying guns, especially after the 2024 election.

True, I am sure there are better solutions to helping those in need then we tend to get from the administration.

And to think we could be talking about how Clinton and other president's failed policies gave rise to Trump. Instead, we are talking about did Trump blow Clinton.
